Frequently asked question...

I was asked several times in the last few days by different clients and visitors to an Open House I held as to the difference between a "Short Sale," a "Foreclosure" and and "REO" (and no, not meaning the 70's band!).
Very simply...
“A short sale occurs when the lender agrees to take less than the full loan payoff of an owner’s property. The homeowner is most likely behind on payments and owing more than the home is worth.

Foreclosure is where the bank takes possession of the property because of non-payment for a long period of time or an unapproved short sale.

An REO is a bank-owned property (“real-estate owned”), when homes go into foreclosure they are sold at a trustee sale, if no one purchases it at the trustee sale, they become REO properties. Later they are often listed by Realtors hired by the bank.”

Hope that clears things up.  If there are any other questions anybody has, do not hesitate to contact me!

Incredible California Vacation Hotel!!!!!!

Visited this most magical hotel for my birthday weekend and definitely want to share it with everyone.  Each of the 109 rooms are a different theme (we stayed in the Jungle Rock room), and one is more incredible than the next!  The grounds are spectacular, the restaurants are beautiful (and delicious), everything is immaculate, and even the drive up there is whimsical (complete with cows, horses, sheep, and endless beauty!).  It's also only 45 minutes from the Hearst Castle, which is also a site to behold.  The website for the hotel is http://www.madonnainn.com/.  Check it out, and hope you get a chance to go!!!

A gorgeous day in Beverly Hills...!

Found myself strolling through Beverly Hills to meet an attorney friend (and fellow Chicagoan) for lunch.  I was literally stopped in my tracks at how beautiful the weather is and how lucky I am to live in SoCal.  Even after being here for 21 years, I am still in awe of the sunshine, the palm trees, and the privilege to live here surrounded by such beauty.  Topped it off by driving home down PCH with the top down and the sun setting.  Sheer bliss! PS.  Sorry to all in Chicago who are getting blasted by Blizzard/2011.  Once O'Hare thaws out (sometime in July), you're all more than welcome to come to Southern Califonia!!!

Welcome to my Blog!

A grateful welcome to my blog (and according to many, a long time coming!).
I’ll share with you moment’s I cherish with my family, interesting real estate info, and of course, experiences and thoughts I hope to enlighten and entertain.  Regardless, of what you read, I hope you enjoy it all!
